Let’s examine the current health care model.
Someone walks into a healthcare provider’s office and says, “You gotta help me, I don’t feel good. I’m tired, having trouble with my vision and can’t remember things. And I limp when I walk.”
The first step is to give the collection of symptoms a name. Then the healthcare provider states, “You have ishgabibble syndrome. Here, take this white pill twice a day and you will have more energy; take this blue pill three times a day and you will be able to see more clearly; take this other green pill four times a day and your memory will improve over time.”
“But what about the limp?” the patient asks.
“Well, you’re an unusual case. Come back and see me in a month.”
In less than fifteen minutes this patient was treated for a diagnosis by masking the symptoms. Then the patient goes back to their same day-to-day habits and routines that caused him to have the symptoms in the first place and now he is taking chemical and/or synthetic man-made compounds in the form of medications. Eventually, the symptoms get worse or new symptoms appears because the pills have dozens of side effects. These side effects are the result of the chemicals in the pills which disrupt the normal bodily processes and functions of the body.
You can take this example and apply it to just about any diagnosis: fibromyalgia (fibrous tissue + muscle+ pain), cancer, MS, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, etc. Symptoms lead back to food and lifestyle. The United States and New Zealand are the only countries in the world that allow direct marketing of drugs from pharmaceutical manufacturers to consumers. Pharmaceutical companies, a.k.a. “legal drug cartels”, will make approximately $280 billion dollars by the end of 2013. That’s $280,000,000,000. Anti-depressants, stimulants, and narcotics are being prescribed like candy to adults and now to kids under the age of 18. Look out for my upcoming new book, “Drop That Pill and No One Gets Hurt!” that will address the downfall of a drug-dependent and malnourished society.
My passion is to keep adults and kids of all ages off of these highly questionable chemical compounds by offering safe, natural and effective solutions. However, if you or a child is already on any of the mental health drugs, I will work with you as your doctor weans you off. The weaning process for any mental health drug is at least six months. Otherwise, serious and often fatal side effects can occur.
Let’s examine a drugless approach. As a Certified integrative Health Coach I look at all of the factors that affect one’s physical, emotional, and spiritual health; childhood and current experiences, career, relationships, food, sleep, family, friends, exercise, etc. I spend an hour with each client over a period of many weeks. No masking of symptoms here for it took you a while to feel the way you do and for your body to tell you what’s working and what’s not, so it will take a while to undue and correct the damage, to readjust to new and better habits, to overcome your symptoms while rebuilding your health. I provide life-long, sustainable, and time-tested strategies.
People are simply being mis-led, mis-fed and mis-informed. Therefore, I have to deprogram my clients while educating them with unbiased and factual information and knowledge. Often, for the first time in their lives, my clients learn how to take care of themselves.
Self-care is the future of Health care!
