Health Test

Below are some of the indicators for physical and emotional/spiritual health & fitness.  Use them without fear, guilt or judgment to empower yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually, from head to toe, inside and out.  Many of these guidelines apply to adults as well as kids.

Circle the numbers that apply to you.  Tally your circles and scroll down for the results.

PHYSICAL HEALTH:

  • Able to look straight down, while standing, and see your toes
  • Abdomen is soft and flat or almost flat
  • Able to bend over and touch your toes
  • Able to walk up 5 flights of stairs while talking comfortably
  • Free of chronic pain
  • Rarely sick or maybe a cold once a year, no diagnosis or condition or symptoms
  • Has one to two soft, formed bowel movements a day that float and not stinky
  • Urine is almost clear in color with little or no odor
  • Urinates 6-8 times a day
  • Facial skin is glistening, body is free of rashes, dryness, acne, bruising, bulging veins, etc
  • Eyes have a twinkle in them
  • Hair is shiny and has lustre
  • Great posture; walks with toes pointed straight/forward, back is straight and shoulders are back
  • Drink enough water to equal your body weight or more in ounces
  • Drug-free; legal or illegal
  • Men/Women: no urinary incontinence
  • Women: has regular menses with little or no “warning” symptoms
  • Women: menopause is a breeze
  • Women: can do 10 “female” push-ups slowly and comfortably
  • Men do not have male organ failure (premature ejaculation)
  • Has energy to last throughout the day
  • *Able to sit still and pay attention for prolonged period of time
  • Avoids sugar, high fructose corn syrup, processed foods, soda’s, coffee, alchol and GMO (genetically modified food)
  • Sleep: falls asleep easily, stays asleep, feels well-rested in the morning
  • Gets 6-8 hours of deep, quality sleep
  • Does not snore
  • Exercises 5 minutes a day

 

EMOTIONAL, MENTAL & SPIRITUAL HEALTH:

  • Doesn’t let the past or anyone else define her self-worth
  • Forgives those that have caused her immense physical, emotional and sexual pain
  • Able to face challenges as a path for growth
  • Falls down, Gets right back up
  • Not afraid to take reasonable risks
  • Not afraid or ashamed to admit mistakes
  • Forgives herself
  • Feels & expresses emotions appropriate to the situation: grief with death of loved one, cries at a sad movie, feels empathy for others, angry when there is injustice, happy for self and someone else, feels joy for “no reason”, etc
  • Able to express and talk about feelings
  • Non-judgmental of self and others
  • Has a moral compass and lives true to it
  • Overcomes peer pressure with confidence
  • Chooses friends wisely
  • Seeks support as needed; professional or a friend or a good book, etc
  • Attends a Biblically-based church
  • Serves in the community
  • Donates time and/or money to a sensible cause
  • Trusts slowly
  • Loves slowly
  • Votes at every election
  • Smiles a lot
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Nothing gets you down for long
  • *Able to sit still and pay attention for prolonged periods of time
  • Loves the elderly and children
  • Gives selflessly to others and expects nothing in return
  • Able to receive compliments, acts of kindness and gifts graciously
  • Has healthy friendships/relationships (that build each other up)
  • Is grateful, gives thanks to God for every second of life
  • You love your job, career, or business
  • Financially comfortable
  • Willingness to change and grow
  • Wakes up every morning with vim and vigor to face the day!

Did you notice that I did NOT define health in terms of weight or “six pack abs” or show any photo of someone who is “fit and healthy”?

That’s because weight & “six pack abs” are superficial indicators of health & fitness.

Tally your scores.  If your total is:

50 or more              Well done!  Keep up the good work.

49 or less       You would benefit from some support.

Diamonds in the Rough Teen Girl Bootcamp

It's an exciting time to be a teenage girl. Challenges and opportunities abound! No matter how much parents prepare them, too often heartfelt counsel falls on deaf ears.

This 1/2 day bootcamp supports parents in wanting their teenage daughters to manage themselves physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.

Fun exercises and tools taught provide clarity on how to respond in a variety of situations, understand what their needs are and how to meet those needs within safe boundaries.
